Sunday:

Matt and I went to my ward (3 hrs)
Then attended his sacrament- he had to do a confirmation (1/2)
Went to Mom and Radelle and Adam's Ward (1 1/2)

We had enough Church for one day
so we told decided to watch Rockwell during Sunday School.
and this is what we did.

Rockwell so badly wants to get into nursery...
we were in this 1/2 gym with the 'shuffle doors' and it was dim lighting and he saw this bright light bursting underneath the door.

He knew it was nursery as he saw the wheels of toys passing by and little feet trotting by.

Roo wasnt too sure what to think of it at first, but once we pulled him by his hair onto it and forced him onto it..

This Past Thursday,
Me and Matt had Dinner at Tonnaes house ( a really close friend of mine, who i went to Thailand with)
So as I was getting ready to go, Matthew kept complimenting me on my looks, and how 'hot' i looked, and he even through in 'gorgeous'!!
Well I am no fool,
So reached for the camera and decided to get a few photos of us

Its so hard taking pictures of yourself.. so ledges and pianos and books become our best friend in trying to get a photo of us!

One day I will just have to get Radelle to get some decent shots of us... as she IS the BEST...
and I know she can take the ugliest girl and make her pretty through the camera! She's amazing like that!!

It felt wrong to crop out 1/2 of Jesus, so I left him in, in both pictures

Have you ever felt pasty?
Because this winter snow with the cool air, it makes your skin dry..

and when you look in the mirror... you are like "seriously? I need to exfoliate AGAIN!?"
Heaven forbid you have a scratch on your leg when you are wearing a skirt and you can see white claw marks on your legs/arms or whatever..
I find it frusterating.
I know this sounds maybe a wee-bit diva'ish'.

But this is the way I have been feeling since my sun kissed, golden colored skin has vanished (from the mexico vay-cay).

I felt like my dark hair was making me look pale.
So i expressed my heartfelt feelings to some girls at work-- who happen to be hairstylists! =)
I told them the vision I had... and.. I know have a beautiful WARM cozy color!! and it is so easy to get that from my really dark hair- with very MINIMAL damage to my hair! (one word- shampoo cocktail!)

And I am sure one day I will get sick of being 'warm' and will want and 'edgy, sharp' look, I will just go dark again!

In some of the pics, it looks redish, but its not. its more of a mocha brown. I love it...
Matt said that this hair color is a toss-up between the really dark (almost black) brown. But he finally said that he likes this a teensy bit more! =) and BONUS- everyone has been commenting on my tan!! *fools* =)

Dont mind the Apron, I was having a "Relief Society" day, and I wanted to cook, and be a 'house woman'... I wore it almost all day after church... even when i was just laying on my bed..

I wanted to see if it 'suited' me.

again, it is not red...

So I had class this Valentines Day Weekend, which I was really bummed about...
I did not feel like being there, I did not wanna have to wake up on a Saturday morning at 8 o clock and I certainly did Not want to spend V-Day with some weirdos in my class..

Needless to say,

I was grumpy...

But when I was leaving class I had texted Matt and he said that he would meet me at my house..

So when I walked in the Back door... he was just coming in the front...

I told him about my terrible day..
and he told me to go change and we'll go get something to eat..

That sounded appealing as my stomach was eating itself all day..
I was starved..

When i went into my room
I saw

BALLOONS ALL OVER THE FLOOR
BALLOONS ON MY CEILING
MY ROOM CLEANED (again)
A BOUQUET OF LILLIES
CHOCOLATES ALL OVER MY BED
A PICTURE FRAME WITH 3 PHOTOS OF US IN IT

2 BARS OF LINDT CHOCOLATE..

* does my man know me or what??*

anyways, my grumpy self flipped over to being the giddiest girl on the block!!!

Once I settled down, we went on got Oodle Noodle (this is my favorite place right now..)
when and got some drink mix
came back to my house...
ate, drank and watched

we went to the YSA
VALENTINES DAY SWEETHEART DANCE...

We practiced our latest learned dance move... the dip..
until i hit someone with my head...
noone was injured... thankfully! =)

Hola mis amigos!

I do not want to gloat
...

I just got back from TWO weeks in Mexico....

it was ok..

you know, nothing really exciting,
it was just blah..

ok...
I do want to gloat and brag...
IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!
It was so nice to be able to go on a vacation with my entire family!
We played games, volleyball, swam in the ocean, tanned, ate, tanned and ate..

oohh
It was a good trip.
Although i did miss my Matthew...
and it was weird not having someone there.
Because usually i am able to hang out with krystal, or mom, or somebody...
but this year everybody had somebody...
except for me (unless you consider Rockwell- so in that case then i did have someone=)

BUT

instead i looked at it as a health retreat...
of course i splurged a little bit on some chocolate (Magnum Icecream Bar) here and there (radelle...shh...=)
But on for the most part, I ate healthy and went to the gym and spa everyday.

sigh..

i want to be back there.
O well..

i guess i have California in April to look forward to!

We've all had days like this....
........

This morning was not the best... I did not want to go to work... I did not want to pretend that I was happy... I just wanted to lay in my bed and just enjoy the day...
I think (along with Radelle and Adam... and I am sure the rest of my family) I have been bitten by the Holiday Bug.

Once you have tasted it's 'Sweet Nectar'... You're a lost cause.

So I got my usual "Good Morning" text from Matthew and I wrote him back on how I felt grumpy, and did not want to work...

By the time I was headed to work.. he was finishing up at his job...
which made me not want to go even more.

but on my drive to work... a tear trickled down my cheek..

the thought of this went through my head
"I just do NOT want to show up at work... I want to spend all my saved money and travel for 6 months to a year around the world....I want to be able to lay in my bed till I feel like I have had enough sleep... I want to cook breakfast for once, instead of just grabbing a quick apple... I want to Reap the benefits of life... without having to work for it".

So I arrive at work.

again... We've all had days like this...

So Matt understood how I just was not feeling on top of my game today...
He stopped by my work... hugged me...kissed me... and told me that he loved me..

That lifted my spirits

(even though in the back of my mind i knew i had to give a 90minute massage to a return client who is absolutly huge and wants me to *quote* "go as deep as you can go"... and I do... (exhausting!!)

so when i got home tonight.. Matt came over just a few minutes after me...
I was in my Long John Capris and a sweater...
I didnt care...
meh...

and he walks in with this....

He knows it's my two favorite kinds...
i swear.. everything i tell him.. .he just files it away...

even to the point of getting the 85% lindt chocolate... not the 90% (because that is too much... the 5% less makes it SO much better)

Another thing:
Probably 2 1/2 months ago... we were in my room snuggling and we were analyzing my room and how it is set up... He mentioned that Plants would be a nice touch.. and I told him that i have been meaning to get some but just have not found the time to buy some...

Now... when i left for Mexico i left my room in CHAOS... my bed was unmade... some t-shirts on the floor... books everywhere... my 8 pillows strewn about (granted i did have to leave at 4 AM)

But... when I came home... my Bed was made... my books were on the shelf... my pillows were put in the order that i like...my floor vacuumed....

I look at my desk and find this...

This Past Weekend....

Matt and I went to Salt Spring Island... that is where his parents live.
We drove down there because he had to return the van he used to move all his stuff up here...and since then he has bought a Jeep and it needs to be back in BC because of registration or something.....

It was a LONG drive... we planned to head out at 6pm on Thursday evening , but then he locked the keys in the van... so we got out of edmonton around 7 pm instead!

We drove till about 130AM and we had packed blankets and sleeping bags so we could just sleep in the back of the van for a few hours...

I have never been so cold in my life.... I shivered all night long... my toes were so cold i nearly thought they'd fall off into little nubins on the floor. I asked matt to feel them and he couldnt believe it... and he offered me a pair of socks.. which i gladly accepted... =)

We woke up every hour on the hour and the funny thing was for the first 4 hours Matt was dying of heat.. he was wearing a T-Shirt... Jeans... socks... and thats all....

we woke up around 7 am and were back on the road by 730am.

we still had a very VERY long day ahead of us...

When we were driving... Matt was getting a wee bit grumpy and was extremely tired... because I kept waking up every hour so that woke him up....

He pointed out the window to me and showed me a Mountain that you can see from Washington... and I replied "Washington D.C?"
he looked at me like ...what?? so he repys : "no..... washington state..."
I was embarrassed and didnt know there was a Washtington State.... but now i do. (When i phoned radelle and told her the story... she laughed and said "kari what you should have said after he clarified that it was indeed Washington State.... 'I didnt know... i was homeschooled' ( in Simon Birchs voice)... hahaha! i nearly pee'd my pants when she said that! lol


We arrived at the Ferry's at 230 PM but the 3 PM ferry was full .....of course it was...
we were both itching to get out of this van and tour around but nope...
we waited until the 5pm ferry came...

once we got onto that the 5 pm ferry...
that was 1 1/2 ....
than we had to catch the 7 pm smaller ferry
which was 1/2 hr...

We finally arrived on Salt Spring Island at 730ish... and I was soooo Excited to Finally arrived until he told me we still had 20-25 minutes of driving..........

anyways...
we arrived a little after 8 pm..... On the road for over 24 hours.... and Matt drove the entire way... such a sweetie...
but in my defense....
i stayed awake minute for minute that he was driving... i didnt let myself sleep when he was driving...


because we pulled over 3 times the entire trip... two pee stops and once for 15 minutes to eat...let just say that
we were starved...

I resided to bed early that night... and slept like a baby.....

what a good sleep that was...
if i wasnt a guest in their house.. i probably would have let myself pee the bed--because i was so relaxed... but that wouldnt be right...

The next morning we woke up bright and early... i told matt that i wanted to be up at 7... and he looked at me and said.. "really?".... and i said "maybe 8 would be better?!" lol
so we woke up at 745!

and we were able to tour around S.S Island... we drove half way up Mount Maxwell and hiked the rest of the way... we toured the small town (there is NO commerical business there...its all hippys selling their own stuff..) and we walked down the pier.. and to the ocean...oooo it was beautiful!!

So much fun.... we had to leave Sunday around 3pm... so we were not able to spend a whole bunch of time there.... but i cant wait to go back!!!

and it was really fun being able to go on a mini trip with my man =)

ooo i just LovE him... I couldnt imagine anyone better to go on this trip with!

This is our first plane ride together.... =) I must say that the Air Canada plane was so Ghetto... the ceiling pannels were falling down... the plane was so small we had to go on the plane from outside....we couldnt take our carry on's with us because their wasnt enought room on this itty bitty plane... and we couldnt watch Prison Break on my lap top even with headphones.. because the plane was soo loud!!! and the turbulence was unbelievable... and i like turbulence.. but this kinda scared me... and the worst part was they had to move people around the plane because they had to equally disperse the weight!!!!
o my!!
anyways it was a great trip and i look to many more with Matthew!

Because I love all the Collages Radelle creates for her work and her blog (header), I asked her if she would teach me how to create them....

with her great teaching skills and with my cunning brain.... and a few tears, scrapes and bruises (just kidding)

I was taught.

Its nice to have sisters that help you in whichever way they can! Being the youngest sister, I have taught them patience, long suffering, tolerance, endurance and how to not idolize their material items (as who knows how long before it gets broken)

Weekend in a summary... On saturday I went and did some errands in the morning and then walked in my door right when Radelle and Rockstar (rockwell :) ) pulled up...
I spent a few hours in the Afternoon watching Rockwell while Radelle had a Engagement Session.

Matthew came over and helped me watch Roo...
Roo was being a wee bit grumpy.... he wanted to nap but i didnt have his crib/cradle (or whatever its called)... o playpen.... i didnt have his playpen.. so i we keeping him awake until his mom picked him up....
but we put on the ever-so-creepy Baby Einstein videos and he was VERY content...

and with that
we gave him

On saturday I had classes all day saturday so i was a wee bit tired.... so we kept it a relaxing enjoyable evening.
Matt and I had his ward christmas party to go to... and its never as good as they build it up to be... but the food was good (only because it was free)... they served the classic hashbrown casserole with some sort of corn flakes on top...*we were a little late because of my classes the 'cornflakes' were a little moist... the classic mormon meal .

after that...

we went for a walk around the legislature and ooo and awweed over all the christmas lights... Matt has never seen them before and i think he was impressed! =)

- I started working for Spasation Salon and Spa and have been doing Massage Therapy there. I love it! It is so nice to be able to go to work and have it stress free... people are happy to see you and they are happy when they leave....except the real divas.. they can be a little ridiculous sometimes!

I went to Thailand for about 3 weeks in May with one of my VERY VERY good friends Tonnae...
lets just say...it was a trip that will never be forgotten... anything that could have gone wrong did... especially when the big Thai man (he looked like the puffer fish off of Finding Nemo-- you know, the yellow one in the fish tank.. and he had some of the same characteristics..) tried to screw us over with our credit cards...phewf.. luckily they were not working.. *sigh of relief....*
Going on this trip gave me the travel bug! I think my next endeavor (hopefully)...Brazil...(ooo & ahhh's!)

Booker had my 'name' for Christmas and this is what he got me! it literally took my breath away! Its so Beautiful! I hung it kinda low on my wall.. but i love it like that! i think it looks cute and modern-- much like the canvas.! :) ooo and the plastic can come off... i just dont want to take it off... im trying to Preserve it... even tho it looks silly with it on. :)

Tis' The Season

This Christmas was absolutely splendid! The entire troop was able to come down on Christmas Eve, which was when we opened gifts. This was the first year that we had 'kids' around for Christmas! It was Allison's and Rockwell's First Christmas! :)

This year, Krystal and Booker came down a week-or-so before christmas! and Mom and Dwayne were gone until 23rd, so Adam, Radelle, Krystal, Booker and Myself did alot of fun things! :) We made cookies, played a ton of games, Krystal and Booker made amazing meals during their stay- including a homemade lasagna-from scratch--they had to earn their keep! We spent a day shopping at West Edmonton Mall, which always makes for a tiring day with all the people doing their last minute shopping...not that we were last minute shoppers..ahem... we also went to Shanes and Vanessa's House and had delicious Pizza ( i lost my concern for gaining holiday weight... on the first day ;)

I had to go and pick up Mom and Dwayne from the airport, mom wasnt feeling to good at all...but that night we forced her to come with us skating and Tobagganing (spelling?). Although she didnt participate in the activities she watched over baby Rockwell!

The presents from my friends and family were amazing... and i am not going to gloat!! Some were just such huge suprise!

I definitly loved spending time with the WHOLE family... its not very often that everyone in the family can get together.

This Christmas was Certainly Memorable :)

'Tis The Season...

Well Radelle tagged me to do this.... and technically so did Krystal--- she said anyone who is in the Christmas Spirit can do the quiz... and i am ... Very MUCH SO!!

1. Christmas tree up yet? Are you kidding me?! Pretty sure we had our Christmas tree up the Day after Halloween!
2. Any Christmas decorations up yet? The whole house is decorated.... i guess i could still bring out the old (junkyish) crafty stuff (that we made as kids) ... like krystals treasure chest with bears... its ceramic--- everyone ooo and awwwed over it... ! not one single ooo and aww over my ceramic bears sledding down a "hill"-- everyone had to comment on how the black paint from the Tobaggon was on the on the snow. i was like 9 years old... common! i obviously didnt have the "skill" that krystal had!! LOL

3. What are you asking for, for Christmas? I dont know ... i never know.....(there are some people out there who say that... when truthfully they have a list in their back pocket) i TRULY dont know.

4.What do you usually do on Christmas Eve? Spend time as a family... eat... play games...eat... watch christmas movies.....eat.....

6. Do you own any christmas clothes or jewelery? no... but i secretly wish i had a knitted christmas sweater.... that is a little too big.... with a christmas tree on it... seriously.. krystal stop laughing at me!! i know you are!

7. Do you use white or colored christmas lights? I like white christmas lights now... it looks heavenly... but has a kid i liked colored..... it was fun.

8. Do you cook Christmas cookies? No, but this year i just might... i dont really like cookies.

9. Do you buy Christmas presents for your whole family? nope... the siblings draw names... and as a girl you pray you have a girls name... the boys are hard to shop for..."what do you want for christmas" you ask.. and they reply "tools".... thanks for that. this year i got my Brother.

11. Is there a Santa Claus? there was until cody curry told me at church their wasnt one year.. and dad confirmed it... but i still kinda think their is!

12. Favorite Christmas Carol? New again.... its a duet by brad paisley and sara evans... find it... download it... its beautiful!!

13. Would you rather it be a white Christmas, or a warm Christmas? I love the classic white christmas... but i cant complain when im in mexico either.

14. Was last year a good christmas? You bet it was...

15. Which Christmas color do you like better red or green? Red

16. Do you get a real Christmas tree, or is it artificial? Artificial right now... but when i am married... ill probably get a real. i like the smell of pine needles in the fire place

18. Do you hang stockings? do some people not hang stockings? barbaric.

19. When opening presents, does your family all open them at the same time? One at a time... its fun to see everyones expression.

21. Do you get up early on Christmas day? i used to... now i dont... but what krystal said about shane yelling at us to get up from under the locked door.... its true... everyword.

22. Does your family eat breakfast before or after opening presents? i actually dont know... ill say after?

(as kids) anything my older sisters made... because they were so cool.. but i really enjoyed hanging the wallet sized picture of myself on the tree... i made the frame for it... out of that foam paper material. i thought it was pretty creative.

24. What Christmas movie do you like to watch the most? I like Mrs. Santa Claus... Miracle on 34th street.I cant think of christmas movies right now...

Eden Massage Therapy

I have now started my practicum! I am doing it at Fancy Fingers in Leduc~ I am loving it! i really am! Dont get me wrong... it gets tiring massaging people... but i actually like doing it! The ladies i work with Donna (owner) and Coral (esthecian) are amazing!! My family has come in a few times to get massages and they havent complained yet!! and usually families tell the truth (brutally). I have business cards made up and ready to go along with a few other fun businessy stuff! I am LOVING my massage course... mainly because i am doing VERY well... but i find it all very interesting :) Theres an update on my education/career. I am very looking forward to ~*Christmas*~ I just love the Holiday Cheer! :)

Spooky---Halloween---Spooky

I am not the biggest fan of Halloween... I do like when kids come to the door with their adorable costumes and you give them candy. But other than that...Halloween is near the bottom of my 'favorite holiday' list!

Well this Past Halloween I had to work a 1/2 shift at work! So I decided to dress up!! Why not?! I dont want to be known as a party pooper! lol! So I picked up some stuff from Dollarama and my costume was nearly ready!

Mom had to work that same morning as well! So she dressed up as well--- we were the same thing! :)

After work I went over to Radelle and Adams and hung out with them and cuddled with Baby Rockwell!! Actually i pretty much slept at their house!!

Seeing that it was Halloween--- and we knew that mom would be home around 7:30ish pm adam and radelle went and picked up some pumpkins ( but they could only find mini ones) and came over to moms house. So we all 'carved' the mini pumpkins!! Until Adam and Radelle showed up i sat in the dark watching tv so that no kids would show up because we only had Nature Valley Granola Bars ( NO CANDY TO GIVE OUT!!!) and there was NO way i was going to hand out Granola bars to kids on Halloween... thats just as bad as those houses who always--every year handed out Apples......barfff!!!!
